After running multiple successful in-person art sales in front of Lesley University’s Lunder Art Center, we began to realize the immense demand for innovative artwork within the local community. With rising supply costs and Cambridge’s costs of living, student artists are limited by what they can afford. In particular, this means low-income and first-generation college students throughout the many fine arts mediums often have their creativity constrained. So, studentartsale.com was born as the first student-owned and operated online art marketplace. A grassroots platform for collaboration, community engagement, and fundraising creativity.
